Talking Point Films is run by people that not only understand how to communicate a message affectively through the production of engaging video content, but who also work hard to understand the needs and requirements of our clients - whether these be in the business community, active in the political sphere, working in the charity sector, or creative artists.

We pride ourselves on creating imaginative video content for our clients that resonates with the viewer and motivates them to take action.   

But we are also a business with a conscious, and therefore our social and environmental responsibilities are very important to us.

Talking Point Films was established in 2016 by Steven Mayfield. Steven's passion for film-making started at a young age, and he pursued his interest by studying broadcasting at university, meaning that Steven has now been creating videos for clients for over 25 years.

Alongside his passion for film-making, Steven also had a successful career in the corporate world with a number of roles within London's financial district.  He was also responsible for the day-to-day running of an organisation that brought together government departments, regulators and the police to work together to help combat fraud and money laundering.  

Steven felt he was therefore uniquely placed to bring together his knowledge and experience of the corporate world and political world together with his passion for story-telling through the medium of film, to help businesses, politicians, charities and artists to convey an effective message through engaging video content in a affordable way.

Our mission is to produce visual content that resonates with viewers, regardless of genre, scale or platform. From creating the overall strategy, to organising and executing the shoot, to managing the multifaceted post-production process, we ensure our clients’ projects are seamless from start to finish.

Affordability is a key aim for us, and regardless of the size and budget of the client, we believe we can always provide engaging video content that makes an impact.

We passionately believe that story-telling should be at the heart of every video produced - capturing the viewer's imagination and ensuring a clear message is delivered for the client.

We strive to reduce our impact on the environment through:-

  • Using public transport whenever feasible while filming

  • Choosing overland methods of transport where possible rather than flying (and never opting for domestic flights)

  • Not owning any company vehicles

Film-makers you can trust.

We understand that you have a passion for your business, and that you need to be able to trust anyone you invite into your world to either film in your premises, or to help deliver your message.  In order to demonstrate that you can place your trust in us, all our staff satisfy the following criteria:-

  • they hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate - these are available for a client to inspect on request.  This is particularly important for any business involved with young or vulnerable people as it demonstrates that our staff do not have criminal records.  

  • they complete and pass a film industry standard Health and Safety course  - "Creative Industries Safety Passport".  This is an Institution of Occupational Safety  and Health (IOSH) proved course run by BECTU (the broadcasting union).  By passing the course our staff are able to demonstrate that they are aware of health and safety issues and are able to work in a safe and appropriate way when on your business premises.   More details can be found by clicking here.  

In addition, in the unlikely event of an incident, we hold Public Liability Insurance cover for claims up to £10 million.
